Uniting diverse leaders in the North to shape a shared future
In collaboration with the UJA-Federation of New York, the Hannaton Educational Center proudly hosts CoLab Hannaton—a groundbreaking initiative that brings together influential Jewish, Arab, and minority leaders from Israel’s North to foster cross-community understanding, resilience, and collaboration. In a time of deep division and uncertainty, CoLab North creates a safe, structured space where dialogue becomes action, and diversity becomes a catalyst for regional renewal.
Social diversity defines life in northern Israel, where Jewish, Arab, religious, secular, and orthodox communities live side by side—but too often, separately. In the wake of October 7th and amid ongoing conflict, the fractures in Israeli society have only grown deeper. CoLab Hannaton was created to address these divides head-on.
Launched on the Hannaton campus, this pioneering program brings together 20 influential leaders from across the Galilee’s rural and peripheral communities. Over the course of the year, participants engage in intensive dialogue and build trust across sectarian lines. Culminating in a hackathon, participants develop and launch social change initiatives that strengthen their communities and the social fabric of Israel’s Northern region.
CoLab North is based on a proven model developed by UJA-Federation of New York and adapted to the unique dynamics of the Galilee. It is the only program of its kind in the North, blending personal transformation with collective impact.
Through this process, participants become catalysts for meaningful change—fostering partnerships, breaking down stereotypes, and building programs that make a lasting impact on their communities and beyond.
